Configuration software

The primary way to communicate with your AWAC is through the instrument-specific deployment software. These software applications are available free of charge, and can be downloaded from the Nortek software and firmware download page.

The software provides the quickest and easiest way to perform tasks such as:

  1. Configuring and starting a new deployment
  2. Stopping a deployment and downloading data from the recorder
  3. Converting raw data to ASCII files
  4. Performing a function test of the instrument
  5. Calibrating the compass and setting a pressure offset
  6. Updating the instrument firmware

Software versions

There are two versions of AWAC configuration software, and the correct choice depends on the instrument’s firmware type:

  • AWAC AST Deployment software (Gen1) - The most commonly used configuration software for first-generation AWACs. Compatible with AWACs running the AWAC AST or AWAC WPC firmware.
  • AWAC Deployment software (Gen1)- Used with AWACs running the regular AWAC firmware, which does not support the use of the central (vertical) beam.
