What effect does the "mounting height" selection have in the deployment planning?

The mounting height parameter sets the distance from the sea floor to the pressure sensor location on the instrument head. It is used during processing to correctly calculate the transfer functions. The transfer functions are what is used to estimate wave energy (i.e. height) from wave related quantities such as pressure and velocity.

This is of particular importance when collecting PUV type of wave estimates.

Further details can be found in the Principles of Operation - Waves.
