I'm having problem with the Ethernet connection on my DVL, which steps should I take?

 

  1. Do you have a valid link (can often be verified by a link status LED where the cable from the DVL is connected)?
    No - check power and cable connections
    Yes - go to step 2
     
  2. Can you see they DVL using discover in MIDAS or the discover app?
    No - connect the DVL directly to a PC and repeat step 2.
    Yes - go to step 3
     
  3. Configure the IP interface in the DVL until you see a green status in discover.
    No - maybe the LAN needs to be reconfigured as well
    Yes - go to step 4
     
  4. Try to ping the instrument, e.g. cmd.exe in windows and use the IP address from discover:
    ping 192.168.10.10
    No reply - try to power cycle and repeat, contact support if unsuccessful
    Yes - go to step 5
     
  5. Try to open the web page in the DVL by entering the IP address shown in discover.
    No - You may have to allow http web pages in your browser
    Yes - Retrieve support file on the maintenance page, send to support
