Data files

Below is a list of the various files that can be retrieved from the Aquadopp 2 recorder after deployment.

The [filename] in the examples below refers to the name you set during configuration, prefixed by A, the instrument's serial number and a unique number indicating the number of the deployment. For example, the filename might look like A412345001_Data where 412345 is the instrument's serial number and 001 indicates the first deployment. This numbering system helps prevent duplicate filenames.

[filename]_avgd.aqd - contains the average current data for Aquadopp 2. The data is averaged over the configured average interval and saved as data format 7. Note that some internal quality control have been applied to this data. For more information about the data format and the internal quality control, please refer to the Integrators Guide - Aquadopp 2.

[filename].aqd contains the raw burst data for Aquadopp 2. The data is saved as data format 3. Note that if no burst applications, such as wave or high resolution measurements, are enabled this file will be empty. For Aquadopp Current Meters you will always find single ping data in this file, including raw magnetometer data.

[filename].deploy - contains the configuration used for the deployment. This file can be saved and uploaded to an instrument to replicate the configuration for future deployments.

[filename].hdr - contains the instrument's header information, corresponding to the response to the GETALL command to your instrument. This information is always included at the beginning of an .aqd file.

[filename].cfg - contains deployment configuration details, corresponding to the response to the READCFG command to your instrument.

telemetryfile.bin - if the telemetry file output option is enabled, the data will be saved in this file.
