Nortek DVLs have the option to collect current profiles interleaved with the bottom track measurements. This is a licensed feature that can be purchased when the DVL is ordered, or you can purchase it later and apply the licence yourself. You will only be able to collect full current profiles if the licence has been applied to the DVL.

If you are not sure whether your DVL has a current profiles licence, send the LISTLICENSE command to the DVL over a terminal interface to return a list of currently applied licences. If the instrument has current profiles enabled the license will show up as "Averaging Mode".

NOTE: One cell of the current profile may be enabled to check beam function without the requirement for a current profile licence. This means that in the web browser interface and in MIDAS you will have the option to enable current profiles even if you do not have the licence. Use LISTLICENSE rather than the web/MIDAS to determine if you have the licence.
