You will have to find the location of the SurveyVM2 installation folder on your computer. There will be a license document in this folder, and you will need proper access to edit this document. To get access:
- Right click the license document
- Select Properties
- Select Security
- Select the Group or Username, and click Edit
- Check off each box under "Permissions for users"
Then you will be able to recreate a new license and replace the demo key.

If you have already installed software, it will run as a demo version. Then you must add the key manually. It can be done as follows:
- Run Notepad as administrator (very important)
- Paste the license you received into your Notepad file:
"UID_xx_vesselname_xx" "xx_license number-xx"
- "Save As" and navigate to the SurveyVM2 folder (this will normally be in C:Program Files (x86)NortekSurveyVM2 unless you choose to put it somewhere else during installation)
- Select the file "license.txt" to overwrite it
- Close Notepad/Notepad and open the SurveyVM2 software - go to Help > About SurveyVM to check that the license has been used
