How can I download data from my Signature?
FollowIf you get an error message when trying to download data from a Signature using the Signature Deployment software, there are a couple of other download options that is useful to know about. The three options are listed by degree of simplicity, where the web interface is the simplest option, the command interface is the most advanced.
Web interface
There are three ways to get to the web interface:
1. Type the IP address in your web browser directly.
2. Open the Discovery tool, right click on the instrument and select "open in web browser"
3. If UPnP is enabled, find the instrument in the network explorer and double-click. For more information about the UPnP option, check out the Signature Operations manual.
When you have reached the instruments web interface, select Data Download (HTTP) or Data Download (FTP). HTTP access may be necessary in cases where FTP access is blocked by an intervening network firewall. If selecting FTP; A new tab will appear in the browser with a list of all the available files for download. Alternatively the user may right click for further options or drag and drop in order to copy the file to a new destination.
MIDAS
MIDAS is a software that you can request access to by sending an email to support@nortekgroup.com.
Once connected to an instrument, click the Data Download button. This downloads data collected from the last instrument deployment. Clicking on the arrow next to the button will pop-up a menu showing other supported recorder operations. Select Retrieve (deployment) data/Click the Download button. The software then retrieves the current data files from the on-board data recorder. If the instrument is deployable, then the data from the last deployment is collected. Otherwise, all data on the disk is retrieved.
If using the newer version of the firmware (from Apr 2019), serial port data download is supported but one will need to select "Retrieve all files" or "Retrieve selected files".
Command interface
Commands and responses can be sent directly to the instrument from the command console. Commands entered in the Command box are sent to the instrument and the command/ response are displayed in the text window. The Integrator Guide - Signature will be a necessary reference manual if you are downloading data this way. Note that you will also need to know how to treat/save the received data.
Since the error message popped up when trying to download data, please send an email to support@nortekgroup.com. We appreciate if you could also send us the support file, which is a compressed file that contains support information including system logs and the current system state of the instrument. Get hold of it through the Signature Deployment software, the web interface or MIDAS. Note: not supported with the serial port.

Good morning,
I have to download GB of data from 4 Signature 1000 and I was wondering if it is possible to access directly the SD card inside the instruments to accelerate the downloading, as I usually do when I have to download data from a Nortek Vector.
Using the software will require me a lot of time to download GB of data from each instrument.
Any suggestions?
Thank you,
Carola Forlini
