If you've been having performance issues with your DVL and have been in contact with us for troubleshooting and evaluation of your vehicle or application we may have asked you for 199 data.

199 data is a custom data format that is used for high level evaluation and diagnostics of a DVL. As such it creates a large amount of data that cannot be streamed in real time and requires custom commands to enable. 199 data is saved locally to the DVL's SD card and must be recovered post deployment over an ethernet connection, or alternatively, removal and direct download from the SD card. This data should only be collected when requested, and disabled immediately after, as well as having the recorder erased. This is due to the size of the data filling up the SD card fairly quickly which may impact the intended application.

Send the following commands via a command terminal or as a text file and using the “upload Config” found in the web browser interface.

Note that the quotation marks may not be correct when copy/pasting these commands, so it is advised to manually input the commands to ensure the characters are valid.

SETBTHW,NDFEN=199
SETDVL,FN="filename.ad2cp"
SAVE,CONFIG

These commands enables diagnostic data, and turns on data recording for a generic file name.

Set the DVL in water, presumably with the complete vehicle. 
Once the testing is complete, you will want to return the DVL to its original state. This is done by the following command sequence:

SETBTHW,NDFEN=0
SETDVL,FN=""
SAVE,CONFIG

These commands disable diagnostic data, and turns off data recording. It is not sufficient to reset with a simple SETDEFAULT or use the corresponding button in the web browser interface.

Next, send the data to us so that we can diagnose the problem. The file should be stored on the recorder.
