Firmware updates
FollowTo update the Signature VM firmware:
Note that as part of this process, the Signature internal SD card will need to be erased. So if needed, make sure to copy off any instrument data files first.
For the firmware update:
- Open the web-interface to the Signature VM instrument
- From within the Signature VM Acquistion software, click the “Show details …” button in the Connections group (the top-left group of buttons)
- In the dialog-box that opens, click the “Web page” button in the “Signature” sub-pane. This will open a browser to the web-interface page of the Signature instrument
- In the web-interface, the tab “Maintenance” is the default selection; In the middle, from the group of buttons, click the “Firmware Update” button
- This will open a Windows file-selection dialog window, allowing you to navigate to the location of the firmware file and select it.
- Note that after the firmware update, you will need to reboot the instrument (via the “Reboot” button), and you will need to erase the SD card (via the “Erase SD card” button).
To update the Advanced Navigation GNSS firmware:
Note that if you receive the updated firmware file as a zip-file, you will need to unzip it first.
- Open the web-interface to the GNSS
- From within the Signature VM Acquistion software, click the “Show details …” button in the Connections group (the top-left group of buttons)
- In the dialog-box that opens, click the “Web page” button in the “Primary Global Navigation Satellite System” sub-pane. This will open a browser to the web-interface page of the GNSS
- In the web-interface, from the menu “TOOLS”, select the item “FIRMWARE UPDATE”
- On the page “Firmware Update” that opens, enter the password in the box (if it asks for a username/password combination first, these are admin/password), then click the button “Enter Bootloader Mode”
- On the “GNSS Compass Bootloader” page that opens, first click the button “Browse…”, and select the .anfw file
- Then click the button “Submit” The GNSS webpage will show you several messages: “Sending Firmware, Please wait …” “Firmware successfully programmed” “Wait 30 seconds (…)”
